Right now, it seems everyone is on a hair trigger waiting for the election date to be announced. And this morning, this fake document, a so-called "Proclamation Dissolving the National Assembly" in the form of a Statutory Instrument got everyone on edge. It said that parliament would be dissolved tomorrow - making way for an election to be called within 28 days. It had the veneer of credibility since the last Senate meeting of this session of parliament was held yesterday.

But, Attorney General Michael Peyrefitte confirmed the document was, quote, "very fake."

A release from the government minutes later said, quote, "the Prime Minister has not yet advised the Governor General on the dissolving of the National Assembly. The reports published by several media houses today are false."
