But while that reported plane landing remains shrouded in mystery, it is confirmed that COVID has arrived on the steps of the Department of Youth Services.

It has the potential to become a cluster, but for now, only one person has tested positive. However, that one person was attending a week-long training with about 30 other persons at the office here in Belize City.

This has led to DYS offices across the country closing their doors while the employees are in quarantine. Everybody who attended the training is expected to get tested but, for now, Minister of Youth and Sports, Kevin Bernard, said it's not a cause for panic:

The media was hosted at an event on Monday at the DYS office along with the minister, the CEO, the director of DYS, and youth volunteers. Minister Bernard explained that those guests were not put at risk since there was no meeting held on that day.
