And while the COMPOL travelled with a negative test - that's what multiple officers in the Orange Walk formation are hoping they also get. The Commissioner today confirmed that after possible exposure to COVID 19, a number of officers from that station have been given rapid tests and are now awaiting results:

Cherisse Halsall "We're hearing in Orange Walk some officers are being swabbed, any other formations have to have the same thing?"

Chester Williams - Commissioner of Police "Well, I know yes we have a case in Orange Walk and a number of officers have been swabbed and the test results have been negative but that's the rapid test but they have also taken the PCR, so what we did is we sent them home pending the results of the PCR because you know the rapid test has a significant margin of error. So, on the side of caution, those officers who have been swabbed have been sent home and will await the PCR results and if that is negative then they return to work."

Cherisse Halsall "Sir what percentage of police are now vaccinated, and wouldn't it have been higher if you led by example earlier?"

Chester Williams "I have led by example, I said when my time come I would have taken it, my time is now an in terms of the numbers, I believe we are in the early 20s and I'm hoping after today with what we intend to do because I will join with the president of the police association and we're going to do a massive campaign to get our officers vaccinated."
