And while COVID 19 is a very real threat right now with most folks sort of expecting a next wave of infections to appear - was the Commissioner courting attention today?

And was it in response to the speculation some have floated that he's been partially muzzled after the appointment of a brand new second hand press officer of senior rank?

Today, the Commissioner spoke about the return of Superintendent Fitzroy Yearwood…

Cherisse Halsall "Sir my boss would call you a tease and at this point the amount of cameras waiting for you to get the vaccine was incredible, was this some kind of strategy to make your statement about vaccines?"

Chester Williams - Commissioner of Police "Well, I didn't invite the cameras, the camera's invited themselves the kind of person I am I always believe in having an open policy with the media, contrary to what some of you believe that Mr. Yearwood being appointed as my communications director is a move to stifle me that is not true, I'm giving you all an interview now which simply means I still free to give interviews to the media whenever I feel like but I believe as the commissioner of police I have other things to deal with and many of times you the people in the media have been behind me and harassing me for interviews with respect to different issues and I do believe you are entitled to have the interview, so ensure that you facilitate you in a more timely manner, Mr. Yearwood is assigned as my communications director and when there is matters of major concerns that I believe should be addressed by my office or me personally, then I'm going to make that appearance."

Yearwood operates out of the Commissioner's office.
