And like Minister Musa, Minister Chebat also encouraged Belizeans to go out and get vaccinated. The numbers have slowly been climbing, but there is still less than 25% of the country that has been vaccinated. This may be for a lot of reasons, but it's clear that the MOH's vaccine campaign needs work. And maybe that's why they're launching a new one, and Chebat told us about it today.
Hon. Michel Chebat - Minister of Health
"I want to take this opportunity to tell you all that next week Wednesday we are going to be doing a relaunching of our vaccine campaign. It is important to get vaccinated, I cannot stress it, we keep on saying that the worse thing that can happen to you is it's going to save your life and so we're going to have a major push starting the on the 30th of June trying to get as many of our citizens as possible vaccinated. You all will know that we just received 100 thousand doses of astrazeneca through the courtesy of the government of Mexico and so we now have enough vaccine that we want to get as many of our citizens vaccinated."

"Is the ministry looking to incentivize the vaccination rollout?"
Hon. Michel Chebat
"I don't want to jump because we're going to be doing a press conference next week Wednesday but we are partnering with the business community to provide incentives for vaccinations."
