And while the Allen family celebrates, the Tzul/Chacon family is concerned about their newest little member. Baby Jayden Chacon has been diagnosed with hemangioma, a benign tumor of clustered blood vessels. But despite being noncancerous, it is extremely uncomfortable and incredibly painful for the 9-month-old, especially since it affects his face. At this point, Baby Jayden can only see out of one eye.
His family is trying to raise funds to take him to Guatemala for treatment - but they need 35,000 quetzales, which is roughly $9,100 Belize Dollars. He also needs to undergo a biopsy which costs $2,500.
The family is a long way from their goal, despite fund raising efforts, and hopes to get help from the public. We spoke to the grandmother by phone today:
