And the other man whose name has been called as a possible leader of the UDP is chairman Mike Peyrefitte.

This morning he appeared on our morning show "SunUp on 7" where the hosts asked him straight up if he is going to offer himself as a candidate, should Patrick Faber be recalled on July 11th.

He said that his focus not on leadership, but instead, to do his best in ensuring that the current dispute doesn't tear his party apart. Here's how he explained why:

Host
"If two-thirds of the delegates do ask for him to be recalled, what happens next according to the constitution?"

Mike Peyrefitte, UDP chairman
"Well then you will have a convention, a full-fledge convention within 3 months of July 11th for us to pick a leader."

Host
"I understand your name is being put out there as vying for."

Mike Peyrefitte, UDP chairman
"My name is always being put out there. I am always a very convenient boogie man for certain people. When in doubt call Michael Peyrefitte's name."

Host
"Shyne was on the couch and he said that you were one of the people that he is looking at."

Mike Peyrefitte, UDP chairman
"Well, I appreciate that, I am flattered and honored, but at the same time that's not what is on my radar right now. We have a very delicate July 11th recall vote. I have to make sure as chairman, before on that day and after that day that we remain a family. That's my job. So I am dead-set in the middle, very neutral, because I have to make sure that there isn't any perception that the chairman seat is compromise in any way. It has to be some neutral part of the party to ensure that the delegates get their wish whichever wish that is. I refuse to be drawn into any discussion about me or what potential. There constitution is there. There is only 8 of us we can talk about when you talk about leadership, because the UDP constitution says its members of the national assembly. So, a discussion around those 8 people or consideration for those 8 people will come up and some will say I do take up a lot of space, so maybe you call my name first, I'm the first one you see. At this time that's not even on my mind."

Host
"I am wondering now, because Shyne says he doesn't want it, you say you doesn't look like you want it now, so I mean..."

Mike Peyrefitte, UDP chairman
"I don't think anybody can say whether they want it or not. We have an important vote on July 11th."
