There was no daily COVID update related last night - and today's report shows a worrying four new deaths 1 in the Belize district, 1 in San Pedro and two in Cayo.
Credible reports tell us those two Cayo deaths are from Spanish Lookout and the victims are two elderly males. One of them was buried today, while the other died today.
Tonight there are concerns in that community - not only for these two deaths - but because of the number of other elders who may have COVID.
That's because a number of seniors socialise weekly at a home for the elderly in the community.
And the concerns multiply from there because we are reliably informed that there is a strong anti-vaxxer, anti testing, and anti mask wearing mood in the community.
And it is a community which is bustling and gets a lot of visitors, plus - through trade - Spanish Lookout residents interact actively with populations other parts of the country.
The Ministry of Health is expected to be following up active interventions - and should prepare for a fair level of resistance.
