10 In The COVID ICU

Tonight one more woman has died due to complications caused by COVID-19 she becomes the 383rd Belizean to succumb to the pandemic.

And, the news of her death comes as Belize City finds itself in the throes of an outbreak with 85 new cases confirmed today. That's part of the 200 new cases confirmed countrywide for an infectivity rate of 16.4%.

Countrywide active cases are at 1,419, with 39 of those actively hospitalized with 10 of them in the COVID ICU.

Belize district for its part has 113 cases which puts it way ahead of Cayo with 30 new confirmed cases and Orange Walk at 24 new cases.

We note that while the report notes a single death in Belize City - we also know of another confirmed this morning in San Pedro.
