And with over 300,000 vaccines in storage and residents only slowly coming out to get vaxxed, there is a concern that some vaccines might start expiring. Minister Chebat says the country is now looking to donate some to countries that are in need before that expiration date comes.

Hon. Michel Chebat, Minister of Health and Wellness

"I know that we have some Astra that may be expiring soon so we're trying to see if we can possibly donate or see if we can get them in arms as well, yes."

Courtney Menzies:
"The donations are to other countries who maybe have not been as lucky as we are?"

Hon. Michel Chebat, Minister of Health and Wellness
"Right, we are reaching out, we are reaching out to see who may want them, who may need them. We currently have 300,000 vaccinations in the country so we have enough for the entire Belizean population and because we know we have a short life with some of the vaccines we want to be able to give them to our neighbors if possible."
