The politician turned talk show host made his first media appearance in a year and a half this morning when he agreed to appear on Sunup on 7, he was there to promote his show, the Les and John show but he also answered some questions about the controversy that's haunted him since the Lev Dermen scandal. Here's the moment when he told our hosts what he believes he should have done differently.
John Saldivar, Political Candidate
"I was not without fault in terms of how I handled the situation, I think in hindsight I should have made myself available to the media far more, I should have spoken out in terms of defending myself. I perhaps assumed that people knew me, that people knew my integrity and my honesty and would not fall for that narrative that was spun in the media but I was wrong. I realize now that when you put a story, whether it's true or false if you say it enough times, enough people believe it and that's one of the things that I would do differently now when attacked in that manner."
