So, we are facing Omicron - but - as we noted at the top of the story - it is a less severe strain of the virus, even though it is more transmissible.
Dr Beer says that of the 200 plus persons who tested positive yesterday - 80% of them showed no symptoms:

"Yesterday they did 226 tests and out of those 54 were positive and out of those 54 that were positive, 80% of them had no signs of symptoms and for those who reported to being ill, what they reporting was just fever and cough, so it's even less than the common flu we're seeing."
Today, there are 421 New Confirmed Cases - double what was reported yesterday. We'll have the full breakdown later on in the news.
