And we also spoke to another minister today - here in the city. That's Minister of Health and Wellness, Kevin Bernard and we asked him about the status of the Port Loyola Clinic - which has fallen into ruin.

It was built in 1988 - and has now been condemned. The Minister said it should start to come down in the next few weeks:

Kevin Bernard, Minister of Health
"The building has been condemned as you are aware we had to move out from the facility because of a lot of other issues, mold the infrastructure had gone it served its time and so we have now placed markers and notices on the facility, we had to go through the necessary process we had to get CBA to write officially to say yes we can proceed to condemn and demolish the facility so what we did was we cleared out whatever we had to clear out from the facility and now I am told that in the next few weeks we should see the facility coming down, but let me also say just as what Dr Musa had reported in the news that it is not just the Port Loyola facility, remember we got that old clinic that used to be right behind KHMH I don't remember what it was or used for that, again, was a condemned building and so we have to do the same process for that. However, the commitment remains that we will construct a new clinic at port Loyola So we have put that in the new budget. To be able to ensure that we can get that facility back up and running. Of course, we have to go through the whole process again because we have to put out tenders and again, we have to wait until a budget is passed before we can do all of these processes. But I just wanted to highlight that, we are doing the processes, the following the processes all recommended by the CBA and that's what the ministry had to take the responsibility to ensure that we do it right."
