Still No Certainty for Cuban Medical Brigade

The PM also spoke about the Cuban Medical Brigade - which continues to hang in a delicate balance between US diplomatic pressure and Belize's dire need for rural doctors.

Tonight, there's still no final decision on the way forward. The PM says that the Foreign and Health Ministers are still in discussion:

"As I said the Foreign Minister went at length to give you an explanation and it remains the same and I think the Minister of Health said the same, it's delicate negotiations and we're in contact with the Cuban government and the Cuban brigade and I know when we meet with the Americans they also brought to our attention their concerns about it so I'm hoping we can work out something sooner than later."
