If you are planning to head to the United States this summer our best advice is to apply for your visa now.
That is because starting on Monday you will have to make an appointment for your visa interview and you could be waiting for that interview for as long as a month.
Visa applicants will still need to fill out the application form along with the 2 photos, and the receipt for the $200 application fee at their consular section between 8 and 10 am from Monday to Thursday. In the past the interview was conducted on the same day, but now, applicants will be given an appointment day to return for the interview.
The U.S. embassy says because of the summer month visa rush, appointments are being scheduled for several days if not weeks after the applications are made.
