Denys Barrow may have been a key player in the private registry scandal, a deal his own brother Opposition Leader Dean Barrow called corrupt, but that isn't stopping the younger Barrow's ascension. Barrow has earned a prestigious appointment to an international court. Barrow who is a sitting Justice of Appeal on the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, was one of four recent appointees to the committee of experts on the application of conventions and recommendations to the International Labour Organization.

The committee of experts meets at its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland for three weeks every year in to examine compliance to labour standards in member states which include Belize. Barrow joins 20 other eminent jurists from different regions of the world. He was one of 24 who were considered for the appointment.
