Belize is usually on the receiving end of donations so it was news today when the National Emergency Management Organization donated relief supplies to the stormed ravage Cuba. NEMO’s director Noreen Fairweather handed over the two
thousand pounds of relief supplies to the new Cuban Ambassador Manuel Rubido.

Of course two thousand pounds of supplies is a drop in the bucket for a country of millions revering from successive hurricane hits, so the donation was mostly symbolic. The handing over took place at the airport and they were immediately transported on a MINEVEC, the Cuban relief agency, aircraft.
