General Elections are in a few days, and it will be monitored by a CARICOM Observer Mission. The team will be headed by Jeanette Sonia Charles, from Antigua and Barbuda, along with five electoral officials from that country as well as from Barbados, Grenada, and Suriname. Two CARICOM Secretariat Support Staff will also be supporting the team.
The team will observe the pre-election period and the election day activities including the opening of the polls through to tabulation and announcement of the results.
But, it won't be like other observer missions, the team will be required to observe health and safety protocols at all times. They arrive tomorrow and leave next Friday.
