And from the Supreme Court to the International Court of Justice, we also asked the PM for an update on the border dispute between Belize and Guatemala. Guatemala presented its memorial to the court earlier this year, and Belize will submit its counter memorial in mid next year.

He said that while he believes the land territory is safe, he thinks the problem will arise when it comes to the maritime areas:

Hon. John Briceno - Prime Minister
"Obviously we can't talk about the case but yesterday and today both the foreign minister and the leader of the opposition representative are in London right now meeting with our lawyers as we prepare for that case. We continue to be hopeful, I think the biggest challenge is going to be in mapping out the waters because through international law we cannot prevent Guatemala from having access to the high seas, so that line then will be determined by the ICJ including the boundary line, the marine boundary line with Honduras so that then Guatemala is going to be access but I don't see any problems with our land boundaries, that is the area that is going to be a little bit tricky as that is being marked at that case."
