And, while Belize has sympathized with Veronica Hamze's plight, there was some confusion this weekend when a video of her apologizing to her husband's family surfaced online.

We asked her about it today and she said she did it under duress, and because she was promised that her children's passports would be returned to her.

But, the good news this morning is that Veronica now claims to have secured the services of a Lebanese lawyer who also works for the British Embassy in that country. This morning she told us that her efforts to publicize her plight on social media have only helped her situation:

Veronica Hamze, Trapped In Lebanon
"Listen, when I put this in the social media looking for help it's good for me because I have two years, almost. Two years and asked for this family and asked for everybody I want to go back to my country, I want to go back. Nobody listened to me, these people don't understand that I said no I don't want to stay here. I. Don't want to live in this country, they don't. Understand what is no, no."

"Every time, stay with us live with us, this is you're family and I said no it's not my family I am sorry, my husband died and my family is waiting for me and I have two, almost two years illegal in this country, my visa expired and my sister too, my ticket to go back expired, because I can't leave my daughters, my daughters need me."

7News will keep following this story.
