After 22 days an agreement has been reached and finally it seems the water will be turned back on in the Northern Villages of San Pedro, Yo Chen, and Cristo Rey. After the three week standoff it came down to a compromise of a flat rate of $9 across the board. So the water board backed down from their demand of $9 and $10 and villagers it seems have agreed to find that extra dollar to pay for water. A joint release put out by the Ministry of Local Government says the self-sustaining flat rate would be $12.19 per customer. There will be a final meeting to work out other details of the agreement on Friday.
