Belizean Passports Restocked

If you've been waiting to get your hands on a passport, well there are 10,000 now available. That is the word from the Immigration and Nationality Department which today announced that it has finally received a shipment of Belizean passports from its supplier in London. The release says the massive backlog dating back to May of this year is now being cleared.

How big was the backlog? Well Immigration Director Gareth Murillo told us that in Belmopan alone 233 applications were waiting for that shipment and in Belize City he estimates the number of applicants waiting to be four times that number. Murillo says the shipment arrived last week.
