This morning, it seemed like everyone, everywhere had an opinion about the fate of Ralph Fonseca. Surely he's the most powerful man in Belmopan, because in times of plenty, he's the man controlling the abundant cash flow, and in times of famine, as we're going through now, he's the man who has to scrape together government resources to meet domestic and international money demands. And because he exercises such power, there's no Minister more maligned, more generally blamed and broadly imputed upon than Ralph Fonseca. So now that his existence in government is tapered down to the narrow window of three weeks, beyond which he may or may not wield ultimate authority ion the corridors of power we found that opinion in the street about the man called "Ralph" was plentiful when we asked them, "should he go" and "will he go."

KS: Are you confident in Ralph Fonseca as the Minister of Finance?
#1: I can’t really say that right now because there is a big scandal out right now so I need to have the facts and to know more.

KS: Do you think the PM should fire Ralph Fonseca?
#2: Yes I do.
KS: Why?
#2: Because I am a working person and that is my money and I know we won’t get back that money.
KS: Do you think he will fire Ralph Fonseca?
#2: No.
KS: Why not?
#2: I really can’t say but I know he won’t.

#3: Of course no question about it because the country is in a lot of crisis right now because of him and common sense will tell you that your asset should stay in the country and don’t go anywhere else.
KS: So you think he should but do you think he will?
#3: No I don’t think he will do it.
KS: Why not?
#3: Because he is that type of person and he eats back his words.

#4: I think they should move him.
KS: Should they fire him?
#4: I won’t comment.

#5: I believe right that Ralph Fonseca must go and has to go and I believe the Prime Minister must go as well.

#6: I believe and I think that he should fire Ralph Fonseca not only fire him but consider his offenses as a state offense and lock down the man and throw away the key.

Notably, the overwhelming opinion that Fonseca will not be fired is reflected in our internet poll which is recording a breakout number of voters. After one day 65% of the 200 voters say he will not be fired. You can also register your vote:
