The Police Department this morning launched the “Palladium Police Digest.” It is the Police’s official magazine – a glossy full color 34 page read on the history and future of the Police Department and it’s also the Police Department’s first magazine publication in 20 years. Co-editor Sherlette Lopez told us what’s inside and why it is not propaganda.
Sherlette Lopez, Co-Editor
“Our intention is to put forth the history of the department. We also look at the community policing programs that are offered and we basically want to chronicle the ongoing work of the Police Department. If you notice the publication, the Police Department isn’t just about policing, it is a multi-faceted organization. There is so much going on within the department itself that we want to highlight.”

Is this propaganda?
Sherlette Lopez,
“It is certainly not propaganda. The department myself, will certainly not be dragged or involved in anything that is propaganda. This is simply putting forth the work of the department, the hard work I was reiterate of the Police Department, every since page of it.”
Lopez is joined on the editorial committee by G. Michael Reid and Rhea Rogers. The magazine is available widely. 1,000 copies were printed and the department plans to publish it twice a year. It cost about $14,000 to print and most of the funds came from advertisements.
