Waves of Change at Coast Guard

There's going to be a change in the Coast Guard command. On Friday of this week, Rear Admiral Cedric Borland will hand over to Commander Johnnie Borland who will be the new commandant of the coast guard. Lieutenant Commander Elton Bennett will become the new Vice Commandant.

That was announced in today's Cabinet brief and also announced in the brief is the unusual decision to have the opening for the September Celebrations season at St. George's Caye. We don't know if "pocono bway sticks" will be passed around, but it is a definite first – the event takes place on September first. Additionally, the official Independence Day ceremony will be held in Belmopan this year.
