And while that's the news from "officialdom" – one development that offers some real prospects for youth is that there will be a groundbreaking for a re-fitting of the battered Marion Jones Stadium.

We know, we know....politicians have broken ground there so much that the shovels are worn out, but this time they say it's for real.

And it should be, the plan is modest, realistic - even if a little stingy.

Director of Sports Anthony Michael discussed it today.

Anthony Michael, Sports Director
"It will have a football field, FIFA regulated. It will also have a running track, a synthetic track with Olympic standard. It will also have where we could go back and enjoy the finish of our Cross Country, we'll have a cycling track. And there'll also be a jogging track where people like ourselves who are not really athletes could go in the evening on the track separate from the synthetic track that is only going to be reserved for our athletes and national team. So the jogging track will be for citizens to go out and get some healthy lifestyle."

Jacqueline Godwin
"Will there be security in place because I have been receiving a number of complaints from people who go out there in the evening to jog that they are being held up as they try to get their exercise done in the evening right there inside the Marion Jones sporting complex. So will there be security in place?"

Anthony Michael, Sports Director
"Certainly once the stadium is being completed there will be armed security guards at the stadium. The stadium, what we're looking at without jumping the gun, we're proposing to have the stadium at least open until at nine at night because of time difference where people have different time working. And we are proposing to have it open at 5:00 in the morning."

_That groundbreaking is scheduled for Friday.
