The Commissioner also spoke about how it will go on Sunday's - when the police will again have to use their discretion:
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I think the regulations make it clear that there are certain services that will remain open on Sunday. So long as the person is moving to obtain one of those services, then the person's movement will be lawful. But if you are moving without one of those purposes, then your movement will be unlawful and you will be ticketed by the police. The Phillip Goldson International Airport remains open on Sunday. Many people have asked me, what if I have a relative coming in on Sunday, can I go pick up that person? The answer is yes. You just need to get a copy of your relative's itinerary. Or, if you are a hotelier and you are going to pick up guests, have the itinerary for your guests that are coming in. You can produce the itinerary to the police if you are stopped, to say that you are going to pick up X Y Z. We are not here to make it difficult for people, but we are here to ensure that the provisions of the regulations are adhere to, so that in the next 2 weeks instead of hearing that we are going to extend another 2 weeks, you might be hearing we are going to lift the stricter rules and go back to lighter rules. It is all up to each of us. If we play our role, I think that we can get out of this after 2 weeks is over."
