Dangriga will get a new fire station - and it is to be funded by the US Government. A ground breaking was held for the 1.1 million dollar project today.

It featured the Minister of Disaster Risk Management Orlando Habet, Dangriga Area Representative, Dr. Louis Zabaneh, Dangriga Mayor Robert Mariano, Fire Chief Colin Gillett and the U.S. Embassy Chargé d'Affaires, Leyla Moses-Ones. Here's a tip from the event this morning:

The station is being designed as a centralized location for emergency service providers to dispatch support to the more than 9,000 residents of Dangriga and surrounding communities.
