On Friday, the Ministry of Public Service held a Public Service Award Day where 108 public officers were honored for giving 25 years of service. Additionally, 1,500 public officers were recognized for their decades of service to the country.
A time for honor and celebration, so at the ceremony, the Minister didn't talk about the onerous wage bill, or phasing out non-contributory pensions, he spoke instead about the importance of taking up the mantle of public service.
