And that was the second of three stops the Prime Minister made in Dangriga on Friday. A groundbreaking ceremony was also held for a multipurpose park set to be constructed in the town. Prime Minister John Briceno and the Minister of tourism Anthony Mahler were also in attendance, and here's what they had to say about this up and coming project.
John Briceno, Prime Minister

"You transform these areas you have areas where people can come and have fun but you also have an economic component that people come to sell their products and they can sell because when people are working they have extra money to be able to spend and so with the jobs at the commerce bight and the jobs at the call center they have money to spend they will go out to buy and buy in the shops they go out for entertainment and that in itself creates other jobs for other citizens here in Dangriga and then by extension the government also benefits because when they buy these goods and services in many instances GST is paid and then that goes into the national coffers that can be used to continue to invest so it's a circle where we continue to turn over and invest in our people."

Dr. Louis Zabaneh, Area Representative, Dangriga
"Join us so that this can be something for the entire community for all visitors that come here and something that all Belizeans can be proud of because now we will have a place that we can host our visitors."
"So we look forward to this project moving forward all of us have collaborated in making this a reality and certainly this will have a huge impact in terms of employment in terms of quality of life. The video that was prepared based on the design that we discussed is just amazing and the feedback has been out of this world when we put in on our Facebook page it has been one of the highest viewed post that we ever had."
Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism
