And the BDF soldiers who will be joining the ranks this year will also be able to benefit. According to the brigadier general, they're expecting a double intake, which will see 300 new soldiers. Here's what he told us.
Brigadier Gen. Azariel Loria, Commander, BDF
"We have sent for the applications, we have gathered quite a number of them. I believe if I'm not mistaken, we wanted to kick it off this month but we are still battling with the budget and the resources per se, we are trying to get more ammunition, ore weapons and the equipment that has not arrived as yet so it will be at the end of September if anything."
"We have been given authority to recruit 150 and as soon as we culminate the 150 we are going to recruit another 150 so it will be a double intake this time so in total 300 recruits."
"And that will be over a period of 8 to 10 months."
