And while Williams is fighting off the fare increase with one hand, with the other he's trying to caution commuters to go a little easy on the new waiting chairs he got for the Belize City Terminal.
On July first, we took you to the terminal as he proudly oversaw the installation of some fancy waiting chairs in the area for commuters.
Well, fast forward 30 days and one of those chairs has already been broken. We asked him about it today:
Jules Vasquez
"What was your reaction when you saw that the chairs had fallen into a state of "broke up ness"?"
Chester Williams, CEO - Transport

"Good word! Again. Correction. Not the chair them. One chair. Oh. One chair seemingly, had broken, according to the terminal manager, the commuters come they slam themselves into the chair. They do all kinds of things with the chairs. We have to find out way that we can perhaps regulate or control to a greater extent the use of the chairs."
"I must say that those chairs are not of inferior quality. Those chairs are of great quality. These are the same type of chairs that are used in the Maya Island Air terminal in San Pedro."
"They have been there for many years and they have no difficulty with them."
"So we tried to look at the ones that were more sturdier, to be able to purchase. We did that. We're still seeing that people are damaging them. We have to find ways to take better care. And I want to call upon the commuters and say to them that what we're doing to the terminal is for their benefits."
"And we must all have civic pride. You know, these things belong to us. They're being purchased from public funds. So we must take good care of them. If we don't take care of them, they're not going to last. And then we go back to where we used to be."
