In their planning, one of the big and thorny issues for the Ministry of Home Affairs is the aging Raccoon Street station. The roof leaks sending huge sheets of rain down the stairwell. The ceiling is rat-infested, the bundling has mold issues, among many other maladies of creeping decrepitude.
Reports say police plan to abandon the structure and build a new one. The CEO wouldn't say abandon:
Elton Bennett, CEO - Ministry of Home Affairs
"I wouldn't use the word abandon. I would prefer to relocate. So the plan is to relocate from Raccoon Street. In the long term, try to, to get them more suitable facilities that can accommodate or constant growth of the police department."
