Tonight the Prime Minister will address the nation to say that a compromise has been reached with the Group of 7. Prime Minister Musa went to Channel 5's studios at 5:45 pm to record his statement which we and all other media outlets will air at 7:00 pm. But before you hear it from him: here are the preliminary details. The compromise is that the Prime Minister will be the Minister of Finance but Joe Coye and Deputy Prime Minister John Briceno will be the Ministers of State in the Ministry which is now stripped from Hon. Ralph Fonseca. Fonseca now becomes Minister of Home Affairs and Investment which he takes from Mark Espat. Espat loses investment and Eamon Courtenay loses the Attorney General's Ministry, both of them reportedly by choice. There may be other changes such as in the Ministry of Environment, but up to newstime we were still not clear on that. But the bottom line is this Ralph Fonseca has been stripped of Finance, but remains in the Cabinet. Who gains and who loses? Well we imagine all of you are keeping a scorecard at home. Jules Vasquez has been doing his own math and he is in studio with us.
