Senate SSB Committee Hires Auditor

The Senate special select committee probing social security yesterday appointed an un-named special investigative auditor to conduct an investigative audit of the securitization program of the Social Security Board. Un-named at this time because that person has not signed the contract yet. The committee reports that it has also inspected mortgaged properties on San Pedro and in other locations in the Belize district. These properties were used as collateral in securitizations backed by SSB. The committee next will have public hearings beginning next Wednesday December 15th.
