And of course Delita Moody and Shirlene Sabal are not alone. 23 workers have reportedly gone from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Speaking to us today, PSU President Dylan Reneau said close to 100 public officers have already been retrenched since January.

"Beside these 23 people, we've lost a good amount of public officers from January til now. Figures have it at close to 91 people with regards to this staff containment policy and this staff in transition policy that the government has put out. So they might not want the public to know that there is mass retrenchment happening but trust me Jules, mass retrenchment is happening."
Reneau says the union will monitor to make sure all who are fired get their full benefits.
