On December 28th of 2004 with the then Minister of Tourism Mark Espat he was fired from Cabinet. On March 1st of 2005 he moved on to being Michael Ashcroft's number two man at the Belize Bank as the deputy chairman and now after coming full circle, Eamon Courtenay is back in government.

Flanked by Deputy Prime Minister John Briceno as well as former Ambassadors before the G-7 rift, Amalia Mai and Stuart Leslie, Eamon Courtenay was sworn in as a senator today. This is in following his further appointment as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.

For context we note that Courtenay was the last remaining member of the G-7 movement to be reigned back into the folds of the People's United Party government. The six others have since been reigned in and placated.
