Minister of State Marcial Mes appeared before Punta Gorda Magistrate Patrick Rosado this afternoon for arraignment. Five charges were read: first, driving a vehicle with an expired license, failure to provide a specimen, two counts of grievous harm and one count of driving without due care and attention. Mes pleaded received bail of $2,500. He appeared with the leader of government business in the Senate and private attorney Dickie Bradley who asked that an early date be set for the trial.

The revelation that the Nissan Patrol was not licensed is new and it's one more embarrassment for Mes and the government. Today, that government reacted as Prime Minister Said Musa announced that he was suspending Mes as a Minister of State. A release explained that the suspension stands pending the outcome of criminal charges.
