Yesterday the UDP again raised the specter of cruise bus mischief when it said it reserves its rights to all actions, until government provides an explanation of how the head tax will work. Well, government got the message and the Cabinet Secretary has written to the Mayor explaining how the head tax will work.
It is as we explained it a week ago: combined from head tax deductions from PACT, the Fort Street Tourism Village and the BTB, and will be administered just like the regular subvention from the Ministry of Local Government.
Today party leader Dean Barrow told us that the UDP accepts the offer, subject to the expectation that it will be reflected in the budget estimates as an addition to the monthly subvention.
