Though news broke late this evening, the Christine Perriot firing has set off a chain of late breaking releases from related bodies. A few minutes ago, it was the Ministry of Labour criticizing the action by BTL management, now it's the UDP.
The party says that it believes that the actions of BTL, "if not illegal are...not in accordance with the spirit of the conciliation process being brokered by the Ministry of Labor." It says that the firing is a clear act of retaliation for two grievances that Christine Perriot filed today.
The UDP says it will stand in solidarity with the union in whatever actions it deems necessary to protect the interests of its members.
