Labor Dept. Intervenes in BTL-Union Standoff

On Friday President of the PSU Dylan Reneau wrote to the Ministry of Labour giving them an ultimatum: ensure that Christine Perriot is re-hired by BTL or else. The deadline was this afternoon but before anyone could find out what that "or-else" was the Ministry of Labor interceded. It has directed the Labour Commissioner Adelfino Vasquez to "carry out a thorough investigation into Mrs. Perriot's termination." The investigation is to be concluded by Friday March 17th after which a full report will be prepared with recommendations for actions to be taken with relevant laws and conventions. The release from the Ministry ends by extending legal advice and guidance to her if she desires.
