Dale Trujeque, he was the Human Resource Manager at the City Council, but today’s Belize Times reports that Trujeque has resigned. It’s a high profile resignation, because Trujeque was considered a UDP strategist, one of the pillars of the management team and was known to be close with Mayor Zenaida Moya. But according to the Times, he didn’t just resign, he left with a bang.
The Times quotes Trujeque as saying that he’s turned to the PUP. The quote in the paper says: “I am prepared to work for the PUP...the truth is that they are the nation builders of Belize...the UDP however don’t have an idea...I am scared of the kind of government they would make.” When we called Trujeque for comment on whether he did say those things, he refused to confirm or discuss those quotations or his professional situation.
Public relations officer for the Council Kenny Morgan said he can’t comment because he is as much in the dark as anyone else but he confirms that Trujeque was not at work today. This evening, councilor for public relations Laura Esquivel called to confirm that a letter of resignation was received this morning but she says it gives no reasons for the resignation.
