And while municipal diplomacy took center stage at City Hall today, what's been foremost on the minds of the City Council are a series bombshells recordings of private conversations. The recordings were made ostensibly by former council staffers who've been fired. They reveal conversations between councilors and those former managers. While they may lack the gravitas, they surely have the lurid sort of tone of the Nixon tapes. And now in heavy rotation on PUP media they are surely calculated to take a toll on City Hall. Today Mayor Moya told us how she is dealing with it.
Zenaida Moya,
"We're very disappointed clearly. We feel that we were very good to those who are attempting to try and blemish what we have been working so hard for and it clearly its normal, its human. We are disappointed, we feel betrayed but again we will forgive them and I forgive them for what they have attempted to do, what they have done but because God is the center of my life, I can honestly say that I forgive them and I hope that my council and my party will also forgive them."
