Last night we told you about the battle of the signs; it was being
staged on lamp-posts, but since then it’s escalated and tonight both major political parties are crying foul.
The UDP today sent out a release complaining that since last night, PUP
operatives had vandalized their billboards. We saw two in the city
that definitely fit that description.
And while UDP leader Dean Barrow got paint splattered across his
image, the PUP says that a billboard with the prime minister’s image
got similar treatment at mahogany heights. Secretary general
Henry Usher says that another one of their signs near the Marion
Jones stadium has been repeatedly vandalized.
Both parties point to the gentlemen’s agreement which was signed
last week and accuse the other of violating it. In that document,
all sides committed that they would not deface each other’s signs.
