"Novelo's: the big victims!" - its a great story for a comedy, right? But this is no comedy; this is the Novelo Matrix - a docu-drama finally presenting the family's side of one of the most dribbled political footballs in Belize's history. It premieres tonight after this newscast and special guests were given an advance screening today. It shows how the Novelo's were led astray by the government, bamboozled by high fuel prices, and hoodwinked by the Leader of the Opposition. Alfonso Noble guested for us and asked David Novelo why it's important to get this story out.
David Novelo,
"The reason for us to produce this documentary is that he Novelo's family wanted to share with the country of Belize our journey that we have went through. We wanted to make sure the country knew the facts as the sequences as how it unfolded and the rise, the fall of the Novelo's Bus Line Limited. But primarily we wanted to make sure that the country had the facts in front of them so that they would be able to make a better decision on what they felt about the issue."
Alfonso Noble,
At the end of the day I still did not get a clear picture as to what happened to the $30 million. I believe that you clarified a couple points but not necessarily the entire $30 million.
David Novelo,
"Well Alfonso if you look at the documentary which we will invite Belizeans to do so. What we are doing today besides launching this documentary, we are making available the financials to the country and this was very crucial. We kept on saying it on the radio but I guess people didn't look at the magnitude of it but an audited financial was done."
