Last night you heard PUP leadership candidate Francis Fonseca explain his platform for the job, and defend his political lineage and reputation. We also told you that he has given a somewhat chilly embrace to the reform proposals tendered by Mark Espat and Cordel Hyde. Well, today his campaign team headed by Godfrey Smith was intent on showing that this supposedly old guard candidate is ready for reform.
They issued a list of what they call “action items” coming out of a national consultation with constituencies. They list 12 proposals to reform the party making it more inclusive and responsive. It includes building up the party’s media outlets, and restoring the issuance of party cards.
