On Wednesday, the Committee for the election of John Briceno as PUP leader sent out a heated release demanding that the party executive decree constitutional changes which will quadruple the pool of delegates that vote for party leader. The John Briceno Committee gave the party executive until the end of business today. Well, that has come and gone, PUP Secretary General Henry Usher confirmed to us today that everything stands just as it was and no changes have been made. He accepts though that the reform proposals are on the table and will be looked at in time.

And now that the deadline demand has not been met what will Briceno do? Well, his camp has confirmed that he’s soldiering on with his campaign. He is in Corozal Southeast campaigning right now and claims to have gathered over 300 signatures from party loyalists supporting the calls for reform.
