Yesterday we told you that government is pressuring the Audit Department to audit the City Council for the 2007 – 2008 financial year. Well the department today issued a release saying that audit will start on Monday, September eighth. The department has audited the council for all those years starting in 2003 and ending in 2007. The reports are with the City Council which now has to answer the queries put to it by the Audit Department. All the other councils, except Punta Gorda, have been audited for various years, but none of them up to the current year.
