Phillip Willoughby the man we dubbed “Phillo-by” as he ascended to the post of Deputy Mayor – is under scrutiny by four councillors who says they never even got to vote on whether they wanted him for Deputy Mayor.
He was elected Deputy on February 16th. But at that time three councillors were out of the country and another was unavailable. So Willoughby was elected Deputy Mayor with four votes, the majority at a meeting featuring 7 councillors. But even with only 7, it’s enough for a quorum, so we thought, that was that.
But, apparently it’s not. Now according to our sources, those councillors who were away which include outgoing Deputy Dion Leslie, Roger Espejo and Eric Chang are taking issue with Willoughby’s ascent on such a slender showing. We understand the issue was tabled at a meeting this afternoon into evening – but up to news time were we unable to determine what was the outcome of those discussions.
