Earlier on in the newscast, you saw Leonardo Chavarria bitterly protesting his disqualification from candidacy as a PUP standard bearer.

Well Mark King did the same four weeks ago. King is the former City councilor who was barred from running after he went out on a political limb and made broad accusations against his mayor Zenaida Moya Flowers.

He was told he would be barred from one election, and after serving his time he came back and offered himself as a candidate for the UDP in the Lake Independence Convention.

But, King was told that his application was refused, point blank. He appealed and his party heard that appeal on Saturday. An unusually contrite King told us how that humble pie tastes just fine:,,

Mark King, will run for Lake I

"I think it was never a case that the party did not want me to run. But it was a case that they needed me to realize certain things and I've come to realize Jules that there have been many times that I have been making the wrong approach to my party. I have given the party my utmost assurance that I think stemming off from the last City Council elections they will definitely see a behavioral change in terms of my militant approach to my part and colleagues because we are one party at the end of the day so I am saying that I was humble, I apologize and I realize my mistakes and I am ready to move on with my party."

Jules Vasquez
"So you will not record people conversation again?"

Mark King, will run for Lake I
"Well Jules absolutely not but in certain we are allowed to record certain meetings and so forth, I don't see anything wrong with that if it is acknowledge by the party or anyone."

King will enter a field of three other candidates including present standard bearer Vandley Jenkins.
